Where your taxes go? How about energy, where you the tax payer subsidize Wind farms for $23.37 per megawatt-hour. Coal gets $.44, that's right 44 cents. When the wind doesn't blow the electric is made up for with coal power.
Taxes are levied by our congress but they give all their buddies a chance to spend it.
Telephone Excise Tax-The telephone excise tax was placed on phones in 1898 to pay for the Spanish American War. The war cost 6 billion dollars in today's dollars and the Congress has collected 300 billion so far. There is no tax Congress doesn't love and they are not going to kill their loved ones. But of course we could excuse them because maybe they didn't realize that war was over, they seem to forget everything they voted on but now refuse to take any responsibility for.
Only two things in life are certain, death and taxes.
1. Jobs going overseas - The United States has the 2nd highest corporate tax rate in the world.
2. Empty factories in West Virginia and Lewis County - we are the 5th highest corporate tax state in the country. Nothing new coming in, of course not, they are building in the states with favorable taxes.
3. Gasoline - ever notice how gas is cheaper in most of the states around us? It's because we have a higher gasoline tax.
