5. Fourth he wants to criminalize WAR, as we have seen already when he brought the Somaili pirate here to face trial. Soon all our ships will be in port since the crews will have to come home to testify.
6. In the nineties we had a policy of treating terrorists as criminals instead of as combatants on a battlefield. This meant that intelligence, such as 911 plans, could not be shared between our law enforcement people and our national defense people. For instance if you go to a grand jury with information about a criminal then that information becomes secret.
7. In the nineties the World Trade Center was bombed for the first time, our embassies were attacked overseas, and our soldiers and sailors died in attacks on our barracks and ships. Our response to these attacks was so weak the Osama Bin Laden publicly declared that it was OK to attack us since we would not fight but would withdraw like we did in Somilia.
8. Our new policy of treating terrorists as criminals means we can only ask them to pretty please tell us about any other attacks they might know about. I guess we can still shoot them but please do not get them wet.
